The Kusasa Project: Teachers and Learning Materials

Project Details

The Kusasa Project operates in the Franschhoek Valley, providing primary education to children from impoverished communities. They focus on a holistic approach that integrates academic learning, nutrition, and sports to support the overall well-being of their students

Why This Project?

The project currently needs R2.4 million ($180,000) for teacher salaries and support staff, plus R700,000 ($52,000) for learning materials, including computers, books, and supplies. Additional R120,000 ($9,000) is needed for transportation to ensure safe access to school.

Impact

The funding will ensure the continuity of quality education for over 150 students annually. It supports small class sizes, individualized learning plans, and access to technology that enhances learning. It also guarantees that students receive two nutritious meals a day, essential for their cognitive development.
